Services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Powell age 68 will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 at 10am in the chapel of Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, Ms. Visitation will be on Thursday July 21, 2011 at the funeral home 3:30pm until 10pm. Mr. powell was U.S. Army retired and the Veterans service officer in Marion County, Ms. and a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Foxworth, Ms. He is preceded in death by his father Mr. J.W. Powell, a brother Ricky Cox and a sister Mrs. Gail Lott.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Brenda Stringer Powell, mother Mrs. Shirley Mae Glisson Powell Cox, two sons Christopher Powell(Suzanne) and Jerry Wayne Powell Jr., 3 grandchildren Shana Powell Forbes(Hunter), Chaz Powell(Lindsey) and Brandon Temple, 3 greatgrandchildren Hagen Forbes, Cooper Powell and Gunner Forbes and also many other friends and family.
