Johnny Oxner, Sr., of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 13, 2020 at the age of 67. He was a lifelong resident of Marion County who loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting and fishing. Johnny O, as he was known by those he called friend, will be remembered for his uncanny ability to always catch fish. He was a loving husband and father who was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Rose Oxner; his parents, Samp and Mariam Oxner; a sister, Abigail Oxner; and four brothers, Jessie Oxner, Jack Oxner, Lyndell Oxner, and Wendall Oxner. Johnny O is survived by two daughters, Brittany Stringer and Samantha Oxner; two sons, Johnny “Hub” Oxner, Jr. and Jeremiah Holmes; two sisters, Mildred Samford and Edna Oxner; two brothers, David Oxner and Eddie Oxner; six grandchildren, Jada Johnson, Blake Oxner, Kaden Lewis, Nate Lewis, Shayla Lewis, and Addison Oxner; and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at the graveside in Turnage Chapel Cemetery on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 2:00pm officiated by Reverend A. D. Gammill. Friends may visit with the family at the cemetery from 1:30pm until service time. Burial will follow in the Turnage Chapel Cemetery.
