Joseph Lane “Joey” Morea, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the age of 28. He was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and was a former resident of Columbia, Mississippi. Joey was a Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy warrior and loved Special Olympic bowling. He will be remembered for his love of Star Wars, Super Heroes (especially Spider-Man), anything Marvel and his favorite color, red. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Lane Sauls; his maternal step-grandfather, George Thompson; his paternal grandparents, Joe and Linda Morea. Joey is survived by his parents, Jeff and Brenda Morea; three sisters, Amber Knowlton and her husband, Evan, Sarah Morea and Amanda Morea; a grandmother, Betty Thompson; a nephew, Kaiden Knowlton; and a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. There will be a visitation for Joey on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Sauls Family Cemetery.
