Judy Stanley Washburn

Judy Stanley Washburn, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the age of 80. She was born in Wesson, Mississippi to Walter and Myrtice Hamilton. Judy had lived in the Rawls Spring community in Mississippi for thirty years prior to moving to Columbia twelve years ago. She enjoyed garage sales, playing cards, playing Bingo, and time spent with family. Known for her chicken and dumplings, Judy was an excellent cook and baker. She loved her animals and loved people. Judy will be remembered for the special way that she had of making everyone feel loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Ray Hamilton; and her husbands, Thomas B. Stanley, Sr. and Donald W. Washburn. Judy is survived by three daughters, Amelia Ann Reed, Tracy Williams (Josh), and Kimberly Dressler (Phillip); two sons, Otis “Red” Smith (Sherry) and Thomas B. Stanley, Jr. (Crystal); three sisters, Bama Guess, Christeen Hinton, and Norma Lee Starling (Benny); three brothers, Jim Hamilton (Kay), John Hamilton (Cheryl), and Robert Charles Hamilton (Cherry); thirteen grandchildren, Rachel Livingston (Burl), Kayla Nguyen (Bao), Brittany Smith, Trey Stanley (Andi), Cameron Stanley, Chase Touchstone, Kelsie Prater, Tommy Lee Williams, Nick Patterson, James Gammons, Brandon Gammons, Phillip Dressler, Lakin Dressler; seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service for Judy at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. She will be laid to rest in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Hattiesburg.
