Larry B. Lott, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the age of 72. He was born in Marion County to Ben and Bernice Lott and has remained a lifelong resident. Larry was a funeral director and manager of Colonial Funeral Home where he worked for 14 years until his retirement on December 31, 2013. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed Southern Gospel music, but he loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be remembered for his devotion to his family. He shared his musical talents by singing with several gospel quartet groups in the area and most recently with the quartet, Calm Assurance. Larry was a man of faith and served his Lord and community through his longtime membership with Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church where he lead music for the past 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Colonel Kenneth Lott. Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Lott; two sons, Wade Lott and wife, Tammy, and Benji Lott and wife, Jennifer; two sisters, Mildred Davis and Tina Ramshur and husband, Jesse; six grandchildren, Brittany Ford and husband, Justin, Garrett Lott, Abby Lott, Maddie Lott, Taylor Lott, and Noah Dawson; four great-grandchildren, Breanna Ford, Tyler Ford, Ryleigh Howell, and Tanner Howell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry's service will be a private family service. Burial will be in the Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
