Maggie’s compassionate and caring personality was evident throughout her life. She was a loyal friend to all, a selfless advocate for animals, a loving daughter and family member but, most importantly, a devoted mother to her greatest treasure - her son, Tucker Roye Oakley, 13.
The years of Maggie’s life were filled with countless moments and special days overflowing with her love for her son. From enjoying fishing in local ponds on Mississippi summer days to kayaking in creeks and rivers filled with scents of Mississippi magnolias, Maggie treasured moments with her precious boy.
The enduring love of Maggie transcended all of her relationships. She and her mother, Linda Roye Harwood Oakley were best friends through the years and shared countless conversations, celebrated memorable holiday moments together, and found peace in the stillness and patience of fishing. She admired greatly, her late uncle Lindsay Roy Harwood, who inspired her to love and serve others in need.
Friends and family smile as they recall Maggie’s endearing sense of humor, her intellect and her feisty spirit.
Maggie never met a stranger, especially one with four paws. An animal lover to the core, she and her son Tucker were a dynamic duo that came to the rescue of any animals in need. A lonely dog or long-lost kitten were greeted with kindness and safety when their paths crossed her path.
