On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Patsy Clinton Sanders, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed from this life into God's presence at the age of 83. She was born in Marion County to Henry and Jewell Watts, was raised in the Improve Community, and has lived the majority of her life in Columbia. Pat was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a prolific reader and had a talent for writing poetry. She was gifted with the ability to care for others and take care of their needs. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor. Pat was a follower of Christ and a woman of deep faith who served her Lord and her community through her thirty years active membership with First Baptist Church of Columbia. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who leaves a legacy of faith to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Clinton and Joe Sanders. Pat is survived by three children, Johnny Mack Clinton (Millie), Byron Clinton (Patti), and Tracy Clinton; three step-children, Becky Newman (Jerry), Butch Clinton (Karen), and Van Allen Clinton (Jo Ann); a sister, Dorris Crews; a brother, Vernon Watts (Sara); seven grandchildren, Lauren Gibson (Tyler), Johnathan Clinton (Cori), Jarrett Clinton (Kristen), Laura Mangrum (Nathan), Bryce Clinton (Kirston), Katie Rae Collier, and Bobby Stack (Toni); and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate Pat's life at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12:00pm. The service will be officiated by Reverend Brett Frazier, Bryce Clinton and Nathan Mangrum. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in her memory to First Baptist Church of Columbia - Building Fund.
