Robert Earl “Pud” Holmes, age 77 passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024 at his residence in Marion County, MS. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. After retiring from offshore employment, “Pud” worked as a fireman with the Columbia Fire Department and operated his own electrical and plumbing business.
Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his father, Felder Floyd Holmes; and mother, Thelma Mae Dykes Holmes; sisters, Phyllis Berry, and Sonnia Simmons; and a brother, Wesley Holmes. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane Holmes; two daughters, Melissa Wascomb, and Robin Broom (Jerry); a son, Wesley Holmes; a sister, Mary Dunaway; three grandchildren, Chris Broom (Hailey), Jessica Roe (Billy), and D’Anna McMahan (Will); and seven great-grandchildren, Cameron, Eliza, Landon, Tripp, Asher, Easton, and Lane.
