Sarah Jane Whitley, age 82 passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at her residence in the Dixie Community. She taught 20 years in P.E. education at Blount High School in Pritchard, AL before retiring, was a member of Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church in Mobile, AL, and continued her strong faith by attending Trinity Episcopal Church in Hattiesburg, MS.
Ms. Whitley was preceded in death by her son, Charles “Chuck” Black; and parents, Ralph Little and Gertrude Hudson Little. Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Wendy Farrell (Steven) of Hattiesburg; a brother, Jimmy Little (Connie) of Mobile; four grandchildren, Engin Toper, Amber Toper, Miles Farrell (Monica), and Elizabeth Farrell; and two great-grandchildren, Kimberly Farrell, and Layla Farrell.
There will be a memorial planned for family at a later time.
