Wendell McAllister, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed away in the Lawrence County Nursing Center on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the age of 64. He was born in Marion County to Ecclus and Juanita McAllister where he has remained a lifelong resident. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Thornhill Forrestry. Wendell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Western movies and TV shows. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and was a great storyteller. Wendell will be remembered for his distinct outgoing personality. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James McAllister and Wallen McAllister. Wendell is survived by three sisters, Lou Edith (Oscar) Robbins, Ortha McCloud, and Shirley Blansett; two brothers, Gilbert (Michelle) McAllister and Randy (Dottie) McAllister; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Bobby Livingston and Reverend Willie Martin, will be at 11:00am on Friday, May 7, 2021 in the Colonial Funeral Home chapel. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Apostolic Church Cemetery assisted by Timmy Smith, Jason Beach, Samuel Peak, Timmy Peak, Jeremy Peak, and Drake Peak serving as pallbearers.
