Arend van Putten

COLUMBIA – A memorial service for Arend “Dutch” van Putten, 69, will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 400 Harbison Blvd. Columbia, SC 29212. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born in Hilversum, Holland, on December 10, 1942, Mr. van Putten passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Arend van Putten was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arie Jan van Putten. He was retired from Pontiac Foods.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Denise van Putten; children, Arend Gordon (Tonya) van Putten of Lexington and Sabrina Melissa (Chad) Thomas of Columbia; grandchildren, Mistie van Putten and Ashton van Putten both of Lexington and Madison Thomas of Columbia; sisters, Corrie Rhoden (Lee) of Ocala, Florida and Meta van Putten of Hilversum, Holland and nieces and nephews.

Arend van Putten was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his pet boxer Memphis.
