Columbia: A funeral service for Brandi Darlene Barkoot Brown, 24, of Columbia, will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 1 o’clock at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia, with The Rev. Mark Wendland officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Mrs. Brown died Saturday, August 6, 2011. Born in Columbia on February 2, 1987, she was a daughter of Tammy Holder Barkoot and the late Norman Ronald Barkoot, Sr.

Survivors include her husband, David Brown; son, Ethan Brown; sister, Kathryn Barkoot of Columbia; brothers, Christopher and Joel Barkoot of Columbia; sister, Ruth Barkoot of Atlanta; sister, Jean (Mike) Sousley of Atlanta; brother, Shawn Ballington of Alabama; aunt and uncle, Judy and Kamal Nassar of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Brenda Jones of Myrtle Beach; brother-in-law, Christopher Brown of Myrtle Beach; nieces, Sienna and Paige Barkoot Saddoris; nephews, Noah and Christian Brown; as well as numerous cousins. In addition to her father, Brandi was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mitchell and Ruth Barkoot.
