David Ashley Cooper

A Graveside Service for David A. Cooper, 79, of Columbia, will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8 Monday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Cooper passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010. He was born in Saluda, NC, on September 19, 1930 to the late Charles Oliver Cooper and Elizabeth McKeithen Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and had retired from the S.C. Department of Mental Health. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, and was an avid tennis enthusiast.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Selma D. Cooper; daughter, Catherine Cooper; son, David A. Cooper, Jr.; and a sister, Anne C. Grove. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Charles O. Cooper, Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth C. Neighbors.
