

IRMO - Donald Otis Bouknight, 79, husband of Fay Leopard Bouknight, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013. Donald was born August 25, 1934 in Irmo, SC, the son of the late Willie T. and Carrie D. Bouknight.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will follow after the service in the reception hall. The family has requested that memorials be sent to the church at 10000 Broad River Road Irmo, SC 29063.
Mr. Bouknight is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fay and son, Donald A. Bouknight Brown; grandchildren, Tony Bouknight, Bryan (Stephanie) Bouknight, Amber (Alan) Hayer, Lori (Jason) Candelora all reside in the state of Maine and Douglas J. Bouknight Brown resides in North Charleston, SC and Wendy (Chris) Mosteller of North, SC.; great-grandchildren, Lily, Rose, Damian and Cedric Bouknight, Christian and Jasmine Hayer and Colby Candelora and Jade, Christie and Tyler Mosteller. He is also survived by brothers, Frank (Ruby), James (Evelyn) and D Pat (Patricia) and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Donald was predeceased by brothers, Ray Bouknight and Cromer Bouknight; sisters, Prema Epting and LaDell Oxley.
Donald was raised in Irmo and graduated from Irmo High School. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1960 with the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Nike Infantry in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Donald was employed by Sears delivery for 27 years. He was an avid bowler and loved working in his garden and enjoyed sharing his bounty with others.
