Doris J. Meyers

Doris Jane Hixson Meyers, 80, formerly of Wooddale, Pennsylvania passed away from COVID-19 on Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Columbia, South Carolina. Doris was born September 22, 1940 to the late Elmer and Ella Jean Wiltrout Hixson.

She was married to the late Thomas J. Meyers on March 3, 1961 and they cherished 32 happy years together. Doris graduated from the Virginia Institute of Technology as a medical assistant and worked at Frick Hospital on the floor and the emergency room. She loved to bake, shop and most of all spend time with her grandpuppies and grandbabies.

She will be sadly missed by her family and her memory treasured by her daughters, Audrey Boyer and Larry Martin of Lexington, SC, Virginia Meyers of Summerville, SC, Theresa Gardner and her husband, James of Georgia and her son, Thomas J. Meyers Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Georgia; her grandchildren, Alicia Nelson and her husband, Josh, Matthew Gardner, Joshua Royer and his husband, Stephan Chundy, Austin Gardner, Rachel Meyers and Sarah Jane Meyers; her great grandchildren, Maddy Boyer, Rylee Boyer, Liam Nelson and Willow Nelson and her siblings, Ray Hixson and his wife, Resa, Betty Mardis and her late husband, Ronald, Bernard Hixson and his wife, Jenny, Robert Hixson, Dwayne Hixson and his late wife, Linda and Patty Etling Morris and her late husband, James.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas J. Meyers of Jeanette, PA; her brother, Harry Hixson; her son-in-law, James J Boyer and her grandson, James J. Boyer Jr.

As per the wishes of the family and the conditions of COVID-19, there will be no funeral services.
