COLUMBIA – A memorial service for Dorothy Helen Nickerson, 99, will be held at noon on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Northeast Presbyterian Church. Dunbar Funeral Home Northeast Chapel is assisting the family.
Mrs. Nickerson passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland following a short illness.
Born in Toronto, Canada she would have celebrated 100th birthday on August 16, 2015. She moved to Columbia from Peoria, AZ in October 2014 to be close to her immediate family.
Surviving are her son; Norman F. Nickerson and his wife Charlotte of Columbia; six grandchildren, Natalie Barnhill (Tim), Laurie Cartmell (Doug), Hillarie Nickerson Thomas (Kelley), Max Nickerson (Sandy), Zack Nickerson, Mackenzie Nickerson and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Warren G. Nickerson; her sister, Elsa and sons; Robert W. Nickerson and John C. Nickerson.
