
Columbia: Dozier Ballentine Lever, 86, of Columbia, died on Saturday, May 19, 2012. He was the husband to the late Eudora B. Lever. Born in Richland County, SC, on December 23, 1925, he was a son of the late Wilton Dozier Lever and Verona Sallie Ballentine Lever.
Mr. Lever retired from Gordon Foods after twenty-seven years of employment. He also worked at Ray Lever’s Barbeque for many years. Mr. Lever, a member of Fair Lawn United Methodist Church, was a member of Broad River Masonic Lodge #377, the Scottish Rite, and Jamil Temple.
Survivors include his son, Thomas E. Lever Sr., and wife Rebecca; daughter, Jenette L. Kelly and Steve, all of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Jason (Cathryn) and Matt Kelly, Thomas Lever Jr., Katherine Lever; great grandchildren, Kylie, Cason, and Collin Kelly; sisters, Sarah (Melvin) Freeman, and Carolyn (Don) Siron. Mr. Lever was preceded in death by his wife and brother Wilton Ray Lever.
A funeral service for Mr. Lever will be held 11 o’clock, Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church, with The Rev. Donald R. Brown and The Rev. Walter E. Parham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Lawn United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 9203 Wilson Blvd., Columbia, SC 29203.
