Emory Ray Marlow

A funeral service for Emory Ray Marlow, 68, of Columbia will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, officiated by the Rev. Clark McCrary. Interment will follow in Aimwell Cemetery, Ridgeway. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.

Born July 4, 1943 in Braselton, GA, he was the son of the late Moses E. Marlow and Florine Butler Marlow. A US Navy veteran, Ray worked in the commercial painting industry with his late father-in-law, Charlie Bass, on many of the buildings in Ridgeway. In addition he also worked at Waffle House in several locations throughout the Southeast.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Barbara E. Marlow; brothers, Jerry D. Marlow of West Columbia; William Marlow of, GA; as well as many numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
