A funeral service celebrating the life of Ernest Leonard Nunnery, 79, of Columbia will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with entombment to follow. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of the service on Saturday in the Mausoleum Chapel. Memorials may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation , 500 Taylor St., Ste 101, Columbia, SC 29201-3000 in Ernest's memory.
Mr. Nunnery passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. He was born in Newberry, SC, to the late Ernest Nunnery and Janie Rikard Nunnery. Mr. Nunnery was a veteran of the United States Army and he also retired from the Columbia Post Office.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Betty Jean Nunnery; two stepsons; a niece, nephews and friends.
