After honorably serving in the United States Air Force, he worked selling appliance parts for more than 20 years followed by 15 years in the pet cremation business. He loved his church and church family, working in his yard and in the last years of his life, loved spending time with family and friends and coloring in his inspirational coloring books.
Doug is survived by his wife, Julia Douglas; daughters, Lynette Sharpe (Rudolf), Joy Sheppard (Warren); son, Kenneth Douglas; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and Richard; and sister, Tonya.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 N. Lake Drive, Lexington, SC.
