COLUMBIA – Funeral services for James “Jimmy” Preston Dykes, 51, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel with interment in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be B. J. Moffett, Kyle Moffett, Aaron Johnson, Rick White, Cy White and John Teal. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Dykes was born February 9, 1960 in Clayton, Delaware and passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011. He was the son of Dorothy Fortner McCartha of White Rock and the late John “Jack” Preston Dykes. Mr. Dykes attended Christian Life Assembly and worked for Ace Glass.

Mr. Dykes is survived by his wife, Candi Smith Dykes of Columbia; children, Ashley Netzel and Travis Dykes; grandchildren, James and Caleb Netzel; mother; step father, Howard McCartha; step mother, Patricia Dykes; sisters, Yvonne “Vonnie” White (Gregg) of Chapin and Carol Abbott (Levi) of Columbia; father-in-law, Alfred E. Smith (Lois) of Granite Falls, NC and mother-in-law, Jeanette S. Jones of Mebane, NC; three step brothers; three step sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
