
She was born in Kingstree, SC on October 18, 1927 and attended Converse College. Everyone who knew her could attest to her grace and charm. Beautiful in appearance and soul, she lived her life as a faithful Christian woman.
Mrs. de Witt is survived by her husband of forty-one years, John R. de Witt; her children, Glenda H. (Duane) Shuler, Frank A. Brown, Gregory Epps (Kelli) de Witt; grandchildren, Jonathan D. (Amanda) Shuler, Elizabeth B. (Keith) Griffin, Alexandra Epps de Witt, Olivia G. de Witt; one great-grandchild, Charles Shuler Griffin.
The funeral service will take place at 1 o’clock, Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, 1324 Marion Street with Dr. Sinclair B. Ferguson and Dr. Derek W. H. Thomas officiating. Following burial in the Churchyard, the family will greet friends in Jackson Hall. Elders and Deacons of the First Presbyterian Church are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. David S. Epps, Keith Griffin, C. Clarke McNair, Jonathan D. Shuler, David C. Webber, and Stan Williamson will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1324 Marion St., Columbia, SC 29201. Shives Funeral home is assisting the family.
