John (Joey) Elmer Johnson of Lexington, died on Monday, October 27, 2025. Born on April 21, 1966, in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of Barbara Lynn Davidson and Robert Edward Johnson both of whom preceded him in death.
Joey was a serious and accomplished musician who played drums from an early age and continued through high school marching bands to professional touring. He played with several bands, did session work with others, and could often be found jamming with other local musicians.
Joey was also an avid gamer. He mastered Pac-Man in his teens, remained current with gaming technology, and had many friends in the online gaming community.
While not playing drums or gaming Joey worked as a plumber with his father, and brothers as a member of Bob's Plumbing Service. He continued his plumbing work even after his father's death. He was a fastidious worker who left customers happy with the quality of his work.
He is survived by his partner of 31 years Karen Jacobs of Lexington, SC, sisters Jeanette (Steven Mathison) Goldberg of Manchester New Hampshire, Pamela Krolewicz-Milas of Columbia SC, brothers Raymond Krolewicz and Stephen Krolewicz of Columbia, SC and Frederick (Nancy) Johnson of Lexington, SC. John is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers Joey would want people to enjoy live music somewhere and support local musicians.
