Ann, I am so very sorry that you have lost your soul mate. I didn't know Joey personally but my son Bradley always spoke so highly of him.  God always seems to take the good ones way too soon. We are all so very sad to hear of his passing. I know that you are heartbroken.  There are no words to help ease your pain and time still does not soften the heartache. I was shocked to hear of Joey’s passing. I have many fond memories of Joey and Ann…. from golfing with them at Windermere to the story of Ann and Joey “having lunch” with the gorillas at the zoo. Joey was a great guy and truly complemented Ann in every way.

Words can't begin to express the shock when I learned that Joey had passed.  So many wonderful memories from days gone by with Ann, Joey, and the rest of the Windermere gang.  My heart goes out to you Ann, I can't even believe that I'm writing this message.  Too many years have passed, but you and Joey have always had a special place in my heart and memories. I have many great memories of sharing a beverage and conversations with Joey on Saturday and Sunday afternoons At Windermere after a round of golf.  We solved all the world’s problems shared a lot memories.  What a great person and he will be missed but always in our hearts. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️

Joey was such a sweetheart! When I lived in the “hood” I walked a lot and I would often see Joey in his Lexus cruising Windermere. He’d always stop and fill me in on the going’s on in the “ lower hood”, what was happening at “the club”, how the boys were and what Ann was up to that day.  He never failed to put a smile on my face (I always told him how much he reminded me of my brother).  I hear his laughter now just writing this. Joey was a wonderful, fun loving gentleman & I will miss seeing him on my return visits to Blythewood. 


We first met the lovely Ann and Joey at the Lake Windermere Golf Club in April 2013 whilst we were visiting the States to attend the Masters Golf Tournament. 

Jay , Ben, Teddy and myself (Joolz) had arrived late on the Thursday and went to play golf at the Windermere on Friday. Being from England we love a beer after almost anything so we stayed in the bar for a couple which is when we met Ann and Joey. We had a fantastic afternoon with them and as the afternoon went on more and more locals turned up for a drink and a chat. We were all laughing so much and I will never forget when Joey said he collected Golf ball markers my eyes lit up and I whispered to Ted (my son) go and get my Blackheath GC marker from my bag. Ted came back and we presented it to Joey and explained the BGC claim to be the oldest Golf club in the World as it had been started by Mary Queen of Scots entourage in the 1600's who had travelled with her from France and Scotland. The look on Joey's face was a picture he almost cried and I loved him for that. When I went to settle the bar bill Joey had already taken care of it. What a top man!

We went 4 more times and each time we met with Ann, Joey and the guys. Every time we went to Windermere and the Colombiana GCC we were made to feel very welcome and when people say there nowhere in the World that compares to Southern hospitality  I can confirm that 100% and had Ted and I been able to convince Jane my wife to emigrate I think we would have bought the plot of land by the island green par 3 that Joey showed us.

Absolutely gutted for Ann and all of friends and family of Joey. Such a massive personality with the loudest deepest belly laugh I've ever had the pleasure to hear. A void never to be filled.

I know he will be looking down on us and every time I get my 3 wood out he will be shouting down "Joolz let the big dog eat" which I think means don't be a Limey pussy put your 3 wood back in the bag and use your driver.

My dear friend Ann, Reading this makes me reflect on the 35+years of memories. Vacations, your elopement and so many treasured thoughts. Looking forward to reminiscing with Joey there in spirit. His easy laugh at the center of it all. We will miss him, but he will always be in our hearts. Love you!

I have lost a true friend. I’ll miss all the rounds of golf, all the laughs and fun times we had. Joey was a gentle spirit, unless you were a slow golfer in front of him 😊. I’ll miss that chuckle when he laughed. We talked about so no much when just he & I played a round of golf. This one hurts! Goodbye my friend. Tell our other golf buddies Craig Willis & Don Waters hello in heaven. I’m sure the golf courses there have no rough 😎.  Hit ‘em straight!

Joey  and Ann will always have a place in my heart. Joey loved people and his laugh was infectious. His kindness and always asking 
how we were was special. I know God will take care of Joey just like Joey and Ann took care of each other. Great friend to many, great member of TWC and super husband to Ann. You will be missed my friend but never forgotten.
