Kenneth was a classmate of the Class of 1976 from GCCHS in Belle Glade, Florida. I remember him as being an outgoing young man. He was a jokester who loved to have fun. He was also a kind young man who always made me laugh and smile. My condolences go out to his family and friends during this very difficult time. May he rest in peace and love.

Ken and Tia are my mother’s neighbor.  Ken was one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  He was a good soldier watching after the elders in his neighborhood.  When I would come to visit mom, he would greet me by saying “hi sis.”  He was a kind soul.  Ken will be dearly missed and I pray that Tia and his children find comfort in knowing how loved and respected by so many people.

When Ken and Tia moved in next door to my Dad and Mom what a blessing it was they became family.  Ken took my mom out in his little sports car Jimmys  hotdog and she talked about this for months. Ken and my Dad they were best buddy’s and the had a day they pick to do yard work as Ken did his and Dad did his yard they wanted them to be the same I can’t remember if there was a day that Ken did not come to their house lots of great memories he will be missed until we meet again

Home Boy. Gone but not forgotten. Fletch and I ran into each other in Germany at the NCO Academy. He said home now you know your Soldier has to be straight to get a slot. I said got it home. Didn’t drive this far to not drop him off. Fletch always holding the line without showing favoritism. Ran into Fletch again at Fort Jackson in 2001. He said home we meet again and you know how I get down. Got it home. Let’s go. With Fletch what you see is what you get. Often times he would invite me to the house to show me a new toy (vehicle) just recently purchased. Home you know I got to dial it in. You know how we do it from the muck. I am very sorry for the family's loss.  SGM Fletcher was my platoon SGT in Vicenza Italy as well and he was a serious motivator.  We were the motor pool section in an airborne infantry unit and we had the highest physical fitness scores and beat everyone because of his leadership.  He pushed us to be our best.. and was able to do it in a way that was tough but still treated us with respect.  I really love this man, and he was probably the first person in my life to really believe in me and see my potential and helped me to believe in myself.  I am grateful that he was my leader.

My heart is heavy.  Fletch was responsible for bringing Reggie and I together over 30 years ago.  He would always say in that rough, loud voice ... "Don't mess this up, Nez!" Fletch projected a hard, tough exterior, but was a pure teddy bear when it came to his friends and love ones.  I know he will be sincerely missed. To the entire Fletcher family, we’re so sorry for the loss your Amazing  love one.  Kenneth Fletcher, aka K-Dog, as I knew him growing up was always a great example for us in the neighborhood.  It’s no surprise that he took this same example into the Army where he excelled to the highest NCO rank possible, (CSM/E-9) while positively touching thousands of lives with his love caring spirit.  K-Dog you were the first to inspire me to join the Army when you came home with that nice white clean ride! Lol I missed you in Italy because I didn’t want to got there but instead went to Korea.  It was years later we connected in Fort Jackson SC in 2007-2017 and to the present.  I miss them calls we made to each other even when we were right down the street from each other lol.  We didn’t let too many days go by without chopping it up.  Didn’t matter who called who, you started with “Homi what’s going on, I’m checking in on ya!” and  you know where we came from, The Muck, so we gotta stick together no matter what!  We would say,  this is too easy compared to what our parents had to do so we can make it this far, and I would say, you’re so right Homi, it’s too easy!!!  You were funny because when I came to your Auto Craft Shop, you would say, now Homi I can’t just help you only!  I would say I know Homi!  But You still gave me all the attention I needed and told your workers to make Sure they took care of me and helped me with whatever I needed.  lol My Homi my Fiend my Muck Stepper Family! I’ll miss you and love you my Friend!!

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the passing of your husband. Fletch was a husband, father, brother and Soldier who touched the lives of of so many. Even though I didn’t know Fletch for a long time we had some great memories. He had such a love of Soldiers but his greatest love was that of his son. I remember many times riding with Fletch to pick up his son at school. So very proud of his boy and how smart he was. I know he’ll continue to make his family proud.  I worked as a volunteer at the auto-craft shop at Fort Jackson. Tough and fair he always helped the junior grade Soldier that visited the craft shop and imbued that support into the other working members. It was not only the craft shop he also enjoyed football and other activities. One Saturday we travelled to Knoxville to watch the Volunteers take on the Gators. His favorite team and they won. Fletch was on cloud nine after the victory. As we drove home, my car threw a serpentine belt. We immediately pulled off Hwy 26 and called a toll truck. Who better to have with you than Fletch.  I cherish the time I had with Fletch. He positively influenced so many lives during his time on earth. Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

The world just lost a great man. 😥 Words can't describe the type of true leader and friend SGM Fletcher was. This man helped shape and mold me into the Soldier I am today.

Back in 2001, I had the honor and privilege to serve under him. I didn't have "blood" family at Ft. Jackson, but he and the crew I worked with became my family!

When I married my first wife Jennifer, SGM Fletcher stood up for me at our wedding, and even threw my Batchelor Party. In 2005, when Jennifer tragically passed away, SGM and the rest of the crew came up to Indiana for her funeral to honor her and be there to comfort me. Up until last year or so when he became ill, SGM Fletcher used to call me every 2-3 months to check up on me. Even if it was a couple minute phone call, he just wanted to make sure I was OK and check in.

I can't thank him enough for all the things he has helped me with in my life!! He was an amazing man, leader, and human!  My thoughts and prayers are with his family!!! I will be traveling down to Ft. Jackson to attend his service and honor him.

CSM  Fletcher was my platoon Sergeant in Vicenza, Italy. We often butted heads because we were both strong willed. But I always respected the fact that he wanted us to be the best. CSM Fletcher was my platoon Sergeant while stationed in Italy. He played a big roll in what I am today, instilling the competitive attitude in me. I remember the PT sessions we had and the runs to monte berico. I still hear him today.. Say 500 and 500.. That was push ups and sit ups.. on one run I beat him and he was mad all day. Lol I will truly miss him RIP CSM Fletcher.

Fletch was an outstanding Soldier, but a better friend. I like many others called him brother. He was always available to assist especially with a vehicle. He definitely had a love for vantage cars. I have missed being apart of the car shows on Ft. Jackson. My regret is I did not get to see him before his death. Spoke of him often but never got to see him. Fletcher was my big brother for many, many years! He would call and check on me and my well being every day if we were not close to each other!  Fletch it has been several years since I told you how my you ment to me and how much I love you! You are my big brother forever and always!  I know that Mike met you at the gates when you were called home!  You are alway in my heart and always will be my big brother! RIP my brother!! You are with my son and my friends now! God is Good!
