Laura (Lorraine) Bennett Watts, 83, of West Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center. She was surrounded by some of her family. Born on June 3, 1941, in Savannah Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Bennett and Bernice Williams Cling. She devoted most of her time and energy to her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter, sewing and reading. Laura loved her family so much. She also loved the beach and wanted to go every chance she got.
Predeceased by her husband, Mike Watts; brother, Johnny Kinard; and her grandsons, Michael Anthony Lewellen Myers and Eddie Alvin Myers. Survived by her daughter, Sheila Lewellen Myers and a son, Richard McCance; sisters, Deborah (Jack) Watts, Mary (Ed) Solomon, Jeanette (Frank deceased) Parker and Minnie (Harry) Fanning; brothers, Ricky (Frances) Smith, Wesley (Mrytle) Cling and Larry Kinard; grandchildren, Ashley (Alex) Losanto, Crystal McCance, John Seabrook and Cody McCance; and great-grandchildren, Isabella Losanto, Christian McCance, Kyle McCance, Cheyanne Lape and Riley Lape.
Laura will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Her memory will be cherished forever. We will have her Celebration of Life on March 1, 2025, at 2:00pm at the Shephard Church of Nazarene at 119 Ball Park Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
