Lois Cole

Columbia: Lois Campbell Cole, 95, of Columbia, died on Monday, May 2, 2011. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 11 o’clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. James A. Goudelock and Rev. Kelly Strum officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, from 10 o’clock until 11 o’clock. Memorials may be made to the Eau Claire Baptist Church, 4427 North Main St., Columbia, SC 29203.

Mrs. Cole was born and raised in Inman, SC. She was one of eight children, a daughter, of the late James Campbell and Fannie Pittman Campbell. Shortly after her marriage to Mr. Thomas C. Cole, Sr., they moved to Columbia, SC. Mrs. Cole’s first priority was being a housewife and mother to her two sons, though later she became a licensed practical nurse. Mrs. Cole was an active member of the Eau Claire Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Harold Cole, Sr., and Thomas (Linda) Cole, Jr., all of Blythewood; grandchildren, Bryan S. Cole, Darrell C. Cole, Harold L. Cole Jr., David E. Cole, Daniel K. Cole; four great grandchildren. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by husband, her parents, and siblings.
