Mrs. Mollie Mae Tince Twitty Twitty Wells

Mrs. Wells was born January 25, 1932, in Kershaw Co., she was the eldest daughter of the late William Ernest Twitty and Nellie Phillips Twitty. Mollie attended school just briefly before the depression required that she quit school to care for her siblings while her parents worked. Mollie and Junior were married from 1952 until Junior’s death in 1996. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Hopkins, SC. Mollie was called friend by many and to her family, she was the perfect mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and homemaker. She cherished relationships with her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the many friends whose outpouring of love, concern and prayers helped sustain Mollie and the entire family during her illness. Your calls, cards and visits were all evidence of God's love.

Sincere appreciation is extended to the staff of South Carolina Oncology Associates (SCOA) and Dr. Mohammed El Geneidy who managed her care during the last year. Thanks also to Palmetto Health Hospice providers who exhibited great professionalism and tremendous compassion towards Mollie and the family during her illness.

Mrs. Wells is survived by a daughter, Patty Karen Fowler, of Vidalia, GA., two sons, Terry L. Wells and his wife, Debbie, of Hopkins, SC and Leroy E. Wells of Eastover, SC. There is one surviving sister, Annette T. Simpson and a surviving brother, Michael Twitty, both of Camden, SC. There are six surviving grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam J. Wells.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church, 9487 Garners Ferry Rd., Hopkins, SC. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to the SCOA Cares Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Dr. Columbia, SC 29210 or to the Palmetto Health Foundation, Dept. 274, P.O. Box 100199, Columbia, SC 29202. Donations to both charities can be made on-line.
