R. Jean Brooks Paul

Lugoff: A memorial service for R. Jean Brooks Paul, 76, of Lugoff will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 1 o’clock, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry R. Basden officiating. Inurnment will follow. The family will receive friends following the service. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family.

Jean was born on November 7, 1934, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Amos Owen Brooks and Tennie Dobson Brooks. Jean died on May 25, 2011.

Survivors include her daughter, Angie Sawyer, of Alexandria, VA; sisters, Judy (Jim) Sitton, of Blythewood, Dorothy “Dot” (Terry) Jernigan, of Florence, SC; brother, Carl (Carolyn) Brooks, of Eastover; two granddaughters; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Paul was preceded in death by her husband, David Paul; son, Steven Smith; brothers, William Calvin Brooks, and Robert Gerald Brooks.
