COLUMBIA Ray Hampton Wallace, Jr., 73, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held graveside at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors. Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel is assisting the family. Born in Martinsville, Va., he was a son of the late Ruby Belten Wallace and Ray Hampton Wallace, Sr. Mr. Wallace retired with the rank of Master Sergeant after serving his country for 20 years in the United States Army. Surviving are his beloved wife of 30 years, Ursula; stepson, James Stroot and wife Rita of Charlotte, N.C.; stepdaughters, Sharon Oxendine and husband Glenn of Columbia, Nancy Gillespie and husband David of Blythewood and Connie Cullen and husband Brian of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Tyler, Zachery, Preston and Isabella.
