COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Rev. Roy Arthur Arnold, 78, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Easley, S.C. Rev. Arnold died Saturday, February 27, 2016. Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late John Preston and Lena Black Arnold. He was a graduate of Clemson University in Electrical Engineering and received a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Arnold served as pastor of churches in Virginia, South Carolina and Florida and was a member of Shandon Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joan Letlow Arnold; son, Stuart Arthur Arnold (Carolina) of Naples, Fla.; daughter, Vivian A. Case of Ridgeway; granddaughter, Caitlin Lee Case; great-grandson, Eric Oelze Jr.; sister-in-law, Helen Arnold of Sumter. He was predeceased by a sister, Alma Reece and a brother, Johnnie Preston Arnold. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a church or charity of one’s choice.
