Susan S McKee

COLUMBIA - Susan Smith McKee, known as “Susie” to those who loved her, passed away on Monday morning. Susie was born August 25, 1950 and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. She attended Poughkeepsie High School, and SUNY Potsdam, where she earned Bachelors (Psychology) and Masters (Education) degrees. She married David Millard McKee on June 27, 1971. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Susie was loved by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her spouse, David McKee; four children, Elizabeth, Sarah, Rachel and David; her sister, Nancy Appleton; her brother, Barton Smith and six grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Latter-day Saint Chapel located at 7449 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC.
