Susan was a proud graduate of Hamilton Wenham High School’s class of 1974 and was always looking for a challenge! She went on to open a Day Care Center, became a home health aide, and a manager at Stop & Shop. Sue’s generous heart was evident in all her charitable endeavors as a prominent member of the International Order of Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, Women's Auxiliary, and her beloved church family.
Sue, Susie, Suzie Q, possessed an incredibly generous heart and always gave of her time, love, and patient listening ear. She was well known for her outstanding sense of humor and rescuing countless cats and dogs and even a few humans. She was stoic, stubborn, sarcastic, loved others unconditionally and always chose her family first. Sue adored her children, grandchildren, extended family, friends and was a woman of deep Christian faith. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, boating, ATVing, and riding on the back of Marc's motorcycle. Sue was deeply loved by everyone who knew her and will be forever missed.
Sue grew up in S. Hamilton and loved spending time on the houseboat in the Ipswich River, and making memories with girlfriends. She selflessly caring for her ailing parents and enjoyed most summers at her favorite spot at Crane's Beach. She married Richard and raised two special children in her hometown. In her later years, she and Richard moved to Maine. After she was widowed, she and Marc decided it was time for a change, and she was happy to move “down south” near her best friend, and the bonus was to escape cold New England Winters.
Sue was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Weagle, and her parents Brainard and Jeannette (nee Crowell) Feltis. Sue is survived by her daughter, Amy DuBois, her husband, Dave; son William Weagle and three beloved grandchildren Samantha, Adriana, and Joseph. She will be deeply missed by her life-partner Marc Poulin, her lifelong best friend Barbara, many friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Susan will be interred with Richard in the spring of 2026 at Cowles Memorial Cemetery, in Ipswich, Massachusetts. (Date to be announced.) In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Sue’s memory to The American Kidney Fund at www.Kidneyfund.Org
