Susan W. Wood

Susan W. Wood was born in Philadelphia, PA and deceased in Columbia, SC on July 27, 2020.

Public Graveside Service will be held at Elmwood Cemetary, on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm.

Ms. Wood was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She enjoyed collecting stamps, knitting, church, crocheting, reading, but most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family. She always thought more of others than herself. Ms. Wood was always willing to put other people's needs before her own. She taught her girls to be strong independent women. She worked for Department of Social Services until she retired. Many obstacles were put in her way but she overcame each and every one she set out to conquer. Her favorite verse was Psalm 23 and her favorite song was "The Old Rugged Cross".

"Your Wings were ready, but our hearts were not."

She leaves behind two daughters, Margaret Norton and Becky Wood; four grandchildren, Micheal D. Edwards, Jeremie Smaldone, Brittany Edwards, and Brittney Wood; daughter-in-law, Candy Smaldone-Wood; son-in-law, Ronnie Norton; brother, Doug Yeates; two sisters-in-law, Betty Yeates and Candy Williams and four great-grandchildren, Bryson Kovacs, Bentley Caughman, Allison Smaldone, and Aiden Smaldone.

She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, and finally at peace.
