Bill was born August 27, 1936 in Coudersport Pennsylvania to Harold Carson Holcomb and Nira Ayers. He worked on the farm with his family until age 13 at which time the family moved to town. He developed a love for flying that inspired him to join the military. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1957.
Bill eventually moved out west where he worked as a cowboy on a ranch in Greeley, Colorado. There, he met and married Mary Bopp. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters and three sons.
In 1983, Bill and two of his friends, John Homer and Neil Storms, together with their families, moved to Columbia, SC. A typical melancholy, Bill was a tireless, industrious, and selfless welder. He retired from Kodak Eastman in 2000. A Christian for many years, Bill was subsequently baptized into the Body of Christ at Eagles’ Faith Tabernacle, West Columbia, SC where he faithfully served until the end.
William Dale Holcomb was a great man of Christian character, a devoted husband, and a loving father. A pillar of strength and support for his family, he leaves behind a legacy of integrity, generosity, and unwavering love that was the foundation for his family.

(Kimberly) Holcomb, Paul (Shannon) Holcomb; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and his extended family in Christ. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Mary and his daughter Linda Lee.
