Funeral services for Mr. Shiver will be 12:30 pm, Friday, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Shiver was from 5-7 pm, Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
Mr. Shiver was retired from West Point Pepperell Mill as a supervisor, he enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and fishing where among his hobbies. Other than his parents Mr. Shiver was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Shiver and a granddaughter, Shannon Shiver Sanchez.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Shiver, son, Jerry J. (Carolyn) Shiver, daughters, Diane Shiver Rogers, Joan (Warren) White, and Peggy (Wendel) Gray, grandchildren, Scott (Christian)Shiver, Misty (Jamie)Puffer, Tabatha (Bill) Williams and several other step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
