

Alice Coulter Gray, 87, of Columbus passed away on December 28, 2013 at Columbus Hospice surrounded by her family.Funeral services for Mrs. Gray will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Edgewood Hall with visitation held one hour prior to the service at Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus with the Reverend Paul Thomas and the Reverend Watson McKemie officiating.
Mrs. Gray was born in Columbus Georgia to the late Harry Leonard Coulter and Alice Harding Lockwood Coulter. Her family owned Chatham Pharmacy on Wynnton Drive which moved to Macon Road. Mrs. Gray was married to her loving husband, Bob in 1944 and traveled around the U.S. with him on business until 1969 when they returned to Columbus. Later in life, she loved playing scrabble, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. One of her most precious things in life were her children and grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Gray and two daughters; Mary Alice Corn and Janie Bagley and stepson Harold Greenbaum.
Survivors include a son; Leonard Gray, a stepson; Louis A. Greenbaum (Lory), two daughters; Toni Cash (Paul) and Suzanne Taft (Kenny), two sisters; Anne C. Griggs and Harriet “Sue” Smith, sixteen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care provided by Covenant Woods over the past nine years, and to Columbus Hospice for their loving care and support.
