Aneva Neal Baker

Aneva graduated from Baker High School in 1958. She was an Administrative Assistant with New Horizons Community Service Board and also worked at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital, Columbus College, CPA’s Favors, Hempstead, Bundrick and Co. and Langley Tax Service.

She married Marvin Baker on November 1, 1959. Aneva and Marvin attended Fairview Baptist Church. In later years Aneva joined the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed reading, sunflowers and painting, but her grandchildren were her favorite pastime.

She is survived by her son, Scott Baker (Joy); sister, Jean Cook; nieces, Jennifer Watson (Branagan) and Jaclyn Henderson (James); nephews, Timothy Neal, Jr (Shannon), Tony Neal, Josh Bludworth; grandchildren, Michelle Reeves, Jamie Gary, Joseph Baker (Jamie), Jacob Baker, Amanda Serna, Melanie Johnston (Matthew), Corey Baker; and great grandchildren, Hunter Serna, Harrison Serna, Caydence Johnston, Maddux Johnston, Jase Baker, Krisleigh Baker, and Holland Baker; and her beloved chihuahua, Lucky.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Edward Baker; brothers, Tim Neal and Michael Neal; sons, Todd Baker and Jeffrey Baker; and grandson, Jacob Anderson.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Edgewood Hall, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. Burial will be held privately at Parkhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to Columbus Hospice.
