Angela Eloise Sizemore

Angela Eloise Sizemore, 94, of Birmingham, AL. passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on December 3, 2015 at the Meadowbrook Extended Care in Birmingham, AL. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA. with Reverend Mickey Adams officiating according to Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. 31907. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Russell, Matthew McCay, Jason Reach, Jim Pritchett, Kenneth Sizemore and Scott Crippen. Mrs. Sizemore was born in Knoxville, TN on December 21, 1920 to the late Otis and Eloise Trammel Sharpe. Before moving to Birmingham, AL, she resided in Fortson, GA. where she was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She was an Army wife to the late Denver Sizemore whom she traveled to Germany with for two deployments. Mrs. Sizemore helped establish a unit of the Grey Ladies in several Military hospitals after World War II. She was active with the Red Cross during her husband's military career. She served as Past President of the Titusville, FL Does Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge. Mrs. Sizemore was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whom we will miss very deeply. Other than her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arden Sharpe, Quentin Sharpe and JT Sharpe and a sister, Mary Sharpe Dixon. Survivors include her son, Denvir A. "Bud" Sizemore and wife Jan of Birmingham, AL, daughter, Melinda Russell and husband Robert of Smyrna, TN, grandchildren, Debra D. Crippen, Kenneth Sizemore, Jennifer Pritchett (Jim), Angela Winnier (Glenn), Michael Russell (Dawn), Allyson McCay (Matt) and Laura Reach (Jason) and 12 great grandchildren.
