Ava graduated from Fairfield Ludlowe High School (Fairfield, CT) in 2023 and after graduation attended Indiana University.
Ava held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and rowed competitively while she attended high school and continued in college as a member of the Hoosiers’ women’s rowing team. Ava was a girl scout all the way through her senior year of high school and won a Silver Award for her community volunteer work. Ava was also a member of the National Charity League (a mother-daughter service organization) beginning in the 7th grade and she remained an active member throughout high school. While in NCL, Ava completed more than 800 volunteer hours of community service and won three Presidential Volunteer Service Award medals (two gold, one bronze) for her philanthropy.
Ava is survived by her parents, Mark and Abby Beatty (Pine Mountain, Ga); brother Gavin Beatty (Pine Mountain, Ga); maternal grandparents, Tim and Barbara Preston (Phenix City, Ala); paternal grandmother, Betty Beatty (Abingdon, Va); uncles/aunts, Paige and Bill Bence (Phenix City, Ala), Adam Preston (Phenix City, Ala), and Jim and Tesha Beatty (Mt. Juliet, TN). She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ken Beatty. Ava also considered Patti Cofield one of her aunts, and Charles and Sharon Cofield as a bonus set of grandparents.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Ava’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A visitation will begin at 9:00 AM prior to the Memorial Service. A Private Graveside Service will follow.
