Bernard Lee Ashley November 28, 1940 - February 05, 2015 Columbus, GA- Bernard Lee Ashley, 74, of Columbus, GA, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St Francis Hospital. He was born November 28, 1940, in Green Cove, VA, to his late parents, Earl and Elizabeth Osboune Ashley. Bernard was an Army veteran and worked for Civil Service, Department of Public Safety. He loved to hunt and fish, and was active in Little League Baseball from 1978, now serving as District 8 Administrator. Bernard played soft ball with the Senior League and sometimes served as an Umpire. The family will receive guests from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Wynton Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A Celebration of Bernard's Life Will be Monday, February 9, 2015, 3:00 pm, Graveside at Parkhill Cemetery, with Pat Gilbert Officiating. Along with his parents, Bernard is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Joyce. He is survived by his son; Charlie (Laura) Ashley of Columbus, GA; and grandson, Bryan Keith Gregory II, and many friends.
