He was born in Wellsville, New York on December 23, 1944 to the late Bernadine and Bert Whiteman. Bert faithfully served his country in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was the Train Master and Ticket Manager with James E. Strates.Shows for many years. Bert met the love of his life while working with James E. States.Show, Sherry Ann Davis. Bert and Sherry were married for almost 50 years. Bert loved his family, they were his universe. He loved music, the great outdoors, and watching a good ol’classic Western movie. Bert will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Berdine and Bert Whiteman; his brother Dewayne Whiteman; and nephew Billy Whiteman.
Bert is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Ann Whiteman; his sons: James “Jamie” (Daidre) Whiteman and Chad Steven Whiteman; his daughter, Ashley Leandra Whiteman; his brother, Steven D. Whiteman; his grandchildren: James Robert Whiteman, Jr., Caitlynn Paige Whiteman, Hannah Leandra Whiteman, Allie Lynn Stuffel, and Brantley ONeil Ivey; his very close nieces: Lorena Whiteman and Samantha Hunt; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the family cemetery in Geneva, Georgia on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
