Betty West Shelton Burns

A graveside service to celebrate Mrs. Burns’ life will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM in Linwood Cemetery with Reverend Scott Tucker officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907.

Mrs. Burns was born in Columbus, GA, July 29, 1926, daughter of the late Arthur L. and Elma Hearn West. She worked in the office of the Clerk of the Columbus Municipal Court and retired after many years of service. Mrs. Burns was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her love of her family and church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert F. Shelton and her second husband whom she shared her later years with, Pierce B. Burns; one brother, William F. West; one sister, June West Siler.

Survivors include her children, Rodney F. Shelton and his wife, Pam, Richard L. Shelton and his wife, Judith, and Karen Shelton Darrah and her husband, James; four grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
