Betty Jean Dasinger

Betty Jean Bedsole Dasinger, age 81, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. The family will receive friends Monday, July 9, 2012 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus at 6:00 – 8:00PM EST. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 11:00AM EST in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby with graveside service immediately following with Reverend David Howle officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Sunshine Sunday School Class of Edgewood Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dasinger was born in Headland, AL on April 16, 1931 to the late G. Hugh Bedsole and Linnie Dykes Bedsole. She has lived in Columbus for most of her life and was an active member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday School class. Mrs. Dasinger worked for Piggly Wiggly and retired after many years at A&P Grocery Store. Mrs. Dasinger was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother that will be forever missed.

Mrs. Dasinger was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Robert Earl Dasinger; sister, Wilberlene Adams of Texasville, AL; and brother’s, Howard and Harold Bedsole. Survivors include her two children Linda F. Massey (Oscar) of Columbus and Robert Steven Dasinger of Columbus, two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Blyler and Robert Steven Massey, great grandchildren, Lori Lynn Blyer Nichols and Brenda Gail Blyer and one great-great grandchild, Payton Lynn Nichols all of Callahan, Florida, two nephews, Danny Bedsole of Columbus, GA, and Jimmy Bedsole of Powder Springs, GA and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends of Barbour County, AL and Phenix City, AL.
