Beulah Mae Braxton, 88, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Ebbie Watson Jones and Vaughn Jones on September 15, 1936. Beulah was one of eight children to Ebbie and Vaugh Jones. She was married to the late Frank W. Braxton. Together they called the Columbus area home. After Beulah and Frank reached their golden years in retirement, they both loved to travel on cruises. She was an avid bowler for over 45+ years. Beulah loved spending time with her grandbabies. She loved taking her grandchildren to the library and to the pool.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ebbie and Vaughn Jones; her husband, Frank W. Braxton; her brothers and sisters: Vaughn Jones, Jr., John H. Jones, James “Jim” D. Jones, Curtis L. Jones, Robert Jones, Edna Thomas, and Bobbie Sue Cardwell.
Beulah leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her children: Darlene Freeman, Frank W. Braxton, Jr., Debbie Holmes (Cregg), and Tina Moore; her grandchildren: Michael Freeman, Josh Freeman (Jessica), April Maywald, Marissa Braxton, Kaylee Howard, Crystal Burson (Nathaniel), John Holmes (Kacy), Joseph Hicks, Jessica Vaughn, and Justin Moore; her nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in Fisher Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM with Rev. Buddy Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
