A graveside funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:00 am in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus.
Born in Columbus, Georgia on January 1, 1945 to the late Avis Elizabeth Foster Collier and James Charlie Collier, Billy was known best for someone to take up for the underdog; he was also an Iron worker with local 387 Ironworkers Union. He had many jobs but was famous as a Loving Dad to his children in teaching them how to love others.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl Lynn Danford Collier, children and their spouses, Renee Collier (John) Lewis, Billy James (Angelica) Collier Jr, Troy Howell (Amy) Collier, Candy Lynn Collier, and Bridgette Leigh Collier (Sam) Heath; Eleven Grandchildren and Six Great-grandchildren. Mr. Collier is preceded in death by other than his parents a son, Cody James Collier.
