Blanche Doris Lankford Sneed

Blanche Lankford Sneed was born on December 18, 1929 in Eatonton, Georgia, daughter of the late Charles N. Lankford and Hettie A. Lankford. She left to be with the Lord on June 28, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, Georgia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cusseta, Georgia. She retired as a hair stylist in Columbus, Georgia. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, M.L. Sneed and numerous brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughters; Cynthia E. Sneed and her partner Emily F. Underwood and Bonna Sneed Sierra and her husband Orlando all of Cusseta, Georgia; her brother, Gus Lankford of Eatonton, Georgia; her sister, Elsie Ellington of Conyers, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus with Reverend David Hardwick officiating. Burial will follow in the Main Post Cemetery at Fort Benning at 1:00 PM. Family will receive and visit with friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 until 8:00 in the Wildwood room.

Mrs. Blanche leaves behind a legacy of family devotion, compassion and understanding. She was a Christian, loved to bake, sew, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
