Byron Paul James, 59, of Columbus, died on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center. Funeral Services are scheduled on Friday, July 22, 2016 in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby of Columbus, 4071 Macon Road, at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm.
Mr. James, son of the late Paul James and Velma Robinson James, was born April 3, 1957 in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a hardworker, Journeymen Electrician (Wireman) and brother of the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union # 613 of Atlanta, GA. Mr. James loved his brothers from IBEW and was a great friend to many. He was a big talker, never judgmental, a great man and father who had a passion for riding motorcycles.
Other than his parents, Mr. James was preceded in death by his aunt, Jewell Ellis; and uncle, Clint Robinson.
He is survived by his children, Jessica James and Andrew Byron James; grandchildren, Lucy Brown, Layton Skinner; and the mother of his children, Sandy James Morris.
