

A graveside funeral service to celebrate the life of Carl Dean Bailey will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 3:00 pm in Parkhill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby in the St. Elmo room from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm before going to the cemetery.
Born on February 18, 1943, in West Virginia to the late Huldah K. Bailey and Albert R. Bailey, Carl served in the Army for 2 years stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. He retired after 30 years from Tom’s Foods as a Maintenance mechanic in the peanut division. After retiring he enjoyed watching his grandchildren and developed a love for gardening. He also enjoyed canning homemade pickles and strawberry fig preserves as a hobby. Carl also had a love for hunting and fishing and this was something he shared with his sons as they were growing up. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lois M. Bailey; son, Robby Bailey and his wife Patricia ,their children Tiffani and Cameron; his son Jeff Bailey and his wife Annette, and their children Dustin, Gauge, Levi and Elijah all of Midland GA. His brother Garnie and his wife Dorothy of Clayton, AL, his sister and brother in law, Robert and Nancy Dowling of Columbus, GA. Numerous other relatives and friends.
