She was born November 23, 1936 in Kenansville, Florida, to George B. and Lottie Davis Baisden. She graduated St. Cloud High School in 1954.
She was a faithful member of Pinehurst Baptist Church for more than 25 years. She is predeceased by her siblings: two sisters, Louise Sever and Gladys Stinson, and three brothers, John, Adona, and Glenn Baisden.
Clara is survived by her husband of 64 years, 1st Sgt. (Ret.) Samuel W. Hunter; three daughters: Ramona Schwengel (Quinton), Wanda Hunter, and Samantha Moss (Arthur); five grandchildren: Caleb Schwengel (Kendall), Kathryn Morgan (Steven), Hunter Moss, Madison Moss, and Landon Moss; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
As an Army wife of 23 years, she was able to realize a childhood dream of seeing Venice as well as many other places. She and Sam enjoyed traveling throughout their life together. A wonderful mother to her three girls and a homemaker with great wit and laughter, she was also a “second mom” to many others. Strong, loving, kind-hearted, caring, constantly growing, and full of grace are just a few words to describe her character and life. She was a teacher at church and at home; faithful, wise and hospitable. She loved the Lord and her family, her Bible, and all Creation (except snakes). She will be greatly missed. As a beautiful piece of our family tapestry, her influence will continue on.
